Blake Pendergrass

A Raleigh, North Carolina native, Blake Pendergrass moved to Nashville to study commercial music at Belmont University. At the end of 2020, Pendergrass earned a coveted spot on Morgan Wallen’s Dangerous: The Double Album with “865." He was the only unsigned writer on the 30-song project. In 2021, Back Blocks Music signed Pendergrass to a worldwide publishing agreement. He soon went from “865” to eight songs on Wallen’s One Thing At A Time, including “Dying Man” and “Ain’t That Some,” moving to 15 cuts on 2025's, I’m The Problem, including a 100% solo write, “The Dealer (feat. ERNEST).Since then, Pendergrass has hit country radio with nine songs in the past year including three No. 1 songs: Jelly Roll’s “Heart Of Stone” and Wallen’s “I Got Better” and “Just In Case,” which held at No. 1 on Country radio for four consecutive weeks. At 2026's GRAMMY Awards, multiple Pendergrass-penned songs earned recognition, including Lainey Wilson’s “Broken Hearts Still Beat,” Post Malone’s “Who Needs You,” Conner Smith’s “Steal My Thunder (feat. Tucker Wetmore) [From Twisters: The Album],” and seven songs on Jelly Roll’s GRAMMY-winning Beautifully Broken. Since then, he's been recognized as a CMA Triple Play honoree, received an ACM Awards nomination for Songwriter of the Year and landed two songs on ERNEST’s newest album -- "Did It For The Story" and “Smokin’ Gun” -- and co-wrote HARDY’s single, “ROCKSTAR.”  With recent chart-topper "Ain't A Bad Life" by Thomas Rhett and Jordan Davis, and the current top-10-and-climbing Tucker Wetmore hit "Brunette," Pendergrass also has cuts by Luke Bryan, Kenny Chesney, Chase Matthew, Ashley Cooke, Nate Smith, Dylan Marlowe, Wyatt Flores, Dustin Lynch, Chase Rice and Jake Owen, accumulating over 1 billion total streams.
